MIA

Charts are good but ships and their location are inaccurate on the St. Lawrence Seaway in Canada

Ship Finder HDTV.

Brilliant app!

Really a great app - fun and interesting. Too bad more vessels are not AIS enabled. Have had much fun with it.

Great app

This app works better than the $1000 AIS system on my boat! Well done

Ship details

Not totally convinced on accuracy, but fun nonetheless.

Great app.

I use this app all the time in high traffic areas. Not all areas on the coast have coverage, so check with the developer as to which areas this app covers. Other Commercial fishermen l have show this app to usually purchase it.

Useless!

I paid $2.99 for Ship Finder HD and every ship I searched came up no results. I used Vessel Finder and found what I was looking for immediately. Deleted this app, wish I could get that $2.99 back. Serious waste of money!

Ship Finder

All Good, live on west coast of Canada, I think its great when on BC Ferries.

Works for my interest

For observing vessel information that I see from our windows or for those in the area, it works perfect. Quite a bit of info on destination, size, speed etc. Some have pictures. I like it and many friends have bought it too after seeing mine.

Shipfinder

Great app. Thoroughly enjoy it. Info and pictures are very interesting.

Disappointed

The app crashes constantly with iOS8 on my iPad Air. I have difficulty finding ships. Would be nice if there were some sort of means by which one could be notified that a ship was in the vicinity. Plane Finder is very good. Not so - Ship Finder.

Keeps crashing

Paid $6.99 for this and it crashes every time, meanwhile the free AIS page provided by Siitech, VTS-Lite, always works fine and loads fast. I do like the vessel images, but what good are they if the app keeps crashing? Check yourself pinkfroot, and then get back to work on this app.

Other apps work fine!

Did not show ships that were readily visible on other free apps. Couldnt track the boat I needed to.

Meh

I bought this to use for the ferry crossing from Newfoundland and Labrador straits. After I bought it, it stopped working and I asked for my money back. They sent to Apple who sent me back to these guys who sent me back to Apple, well you know how this works. It has since started working again but the refund issue will stop me from purchasing anything else from this company. Not reliable!

Works as advertised!

No surprises. Well made and no nonsense. Does what it is supposed to do. How refreshing!

A Welcome Tool

Since the last update, working much better. Very useful to confirm reports from other equipment, great to have handy when transiting ports and passes around Georgia Strait. I use it to check the speed and heading of large vessels reporting when entering narrow channels in and around Vancouver Harbour. Must be used as back up, shows MOST vessels MOST of the time using AIS, and doesnt show Seaplanes approaching or taxiing for take-off. Still, a welcome tool for an inexpensive visual display of data at the helm. Now using it every outing as a redundant measure of safety via iPad at the helm and iPhone on the docks, before pulling into the narrows and while underway. Because of the familiar interface, gets the kids involved on lookout too!

Not worth it

Doesnt identify any of the commercial ships in the St Lawrence River. The government vessels show up but location is wrong. Skip this app.

Ship finder

Good shows all boat traffic in front of my home but would like to see photos as not all are showing

Ship Finder

I use this App often, as I live in a city with three bridges. I can quickly determine which bridges are up, and which are available for crossing. Also, a most useful tool for anyone interested in marine commerce.

Better

Better with last update. Some AIS targets disappear (AIS transponder issues?) Otherwise almost as good as $20,000 dedicated receiver!
