As other readers have noted, serious lack of coverage in major areas of shipping and marine commerce. Buyer be warned, this product isnt worth it if they payed you the $4 to use it.
This app is terrible! The two ships I tried to find were not found. App is hard to navigate.
This app is ridiculous! It doesnt show any boats of any kind in Gulfport MS. We have four tugs working for us and cant find any! Please refund my money.
Got app today, cant track the ship I was on next week, Allure of the Seas nor the ship we are going on next year, Liberty of the Seas. Dont waste your money on this app!
Love it. Fun app.
Poor coverage in Great Lakes. Very disappointed in this App!
This app is terrible. Im in a high traffic waterway and this app doesnt even show the towing vessel Im currently on. Complete waste of money and would appreciate a refund
Totally useless, dont buy this app.
Doesnt track some of the largest cruise ships. Apparently after the ship gets into open ocean, good chance it will disappear off of your screen. Some images will remain but not the cruise line I was following. Money down the drain.
Were staying at a beach house on the Chesapeake Bay and I got the paid version of this app to learn about the big ships we see on the horizon. I agree that the free version is unusable and ruined by the ads. But the paid version is pretty fun for casual ship watching. Sometimes it displays very little information for a particular ship, but I think thats more a function of the maritime registration process rather than the app.
We have a ferry in New Orleans that breaks down all the time and are never given any information as to if it is running or not. This ap gives us a way to find that out without having to drive down there and see.
Shows me no ships in Tampa area, deleted and reloaded it, still no ships, wasted $2.99 for app.
I dont know where they get their data from but Im at the mouth of Mobile Bay staring at 4 huge freighters at sea and none of them show up in the app. Actually, only 2 ships show up within 200 miles. This is useless and I wish I had never bought it.
I am from Aruba, top cruise destination in the Caribbean. I see no cruise ships on this app. And also, at any given moment there are between 10-20 oil tankers and cargo ships entering or leaving Aruban waters. As you may know, everything on the island is imported. I see none of those ships either. The whole caribbean including the gulf of maracaibo (Venezuela), which is an OPEC rich country is empty. What a letdown.
Caution - Most of the Great Lakes is not covered by this app - if you plan to use for these waters, check carefully before purchasing. In their defense, pinkfroot has replied that they will try and add AIS data feeds from the Great Lakes. Apart from this caution, this app works great. The information on AIS vessels is informative and more complete than some competing apps. Recommended as long as you verify AIS feeds are complete for your areas of interest.
Fully functional and unfailingly accurate.
It has kept me safe from unseen ships due to islands. All I cried is cell signal.
Originally from Newport, RI, & enjoy following some of the boats that I used to crew on. Along with that, I would certainly like to see the pictures of the boats/ships.
Was at the shore and pleasure boats were shown. Large vessels working on wind turbines were not identified.
